This little known species that is essentially a dwarf, running Epimedium brachyrrhizum. Spreading by slender rhizomes (leptos = slender), Epimedium leptorrhizum can expand by 8" per year. The 8" tall clump is topped in late March (NC) with short flower spikes of large, pink lavender flowers, often with contrasting lighter purple spurs. Epimedium leptorrhizum prefers not to get bone dry for
