They were widely used in fronts of WWI. In 1915 a special design for RNAS (Royal Navy Air Service) armored car was developed on a Model T Ford chassis by Chief Petty Officer L. Gutteridge. A total of nine armored Model Ts were built by W. G. Allen & Sons of Tipton, of which six are known
