The top is inlaid with a large enameled 'Bleu Celeste' Sevres style plaque and framed with a gilded bronze ribbon

Each figure is very finely carved in traditional dress and engraved with polychrome decoration

The painting circa 1780. A very handsome portrait miniature of a young military officer, painted on an ivory wafer and signed "Smart" to the lower right hand side, the painting is housed in the original brass frame with a hinged hanging hook to the top. Original glass to the front and rear, the rear having the monogram of the young sitter. The painting is in very good condition indeed.
