7 lbs Splitting Maul with Sledge Eye Ascender Weight [g/m]: 59Council Tool recently discontinued the 8 lbs. splitting maul, and replaced the 6 lbs. Splitting maul with a new design that will split the difference. The new 7 lbs. Splitting maul has been nicknamed Ol No. 7, and will bridge the gap between the often too heavy 8 lbs. and the not heavy enough 6 lbs. versions. The new design incorporates a more compact head, with a concave wedge shape to the blade, and wider body to give more pop to the split. The head
