Antique Italian Hand Carved Walnut Renaissance Dragon & Knight Throne Chair 1880 Redo both of whom were renownedSOLD A fine & remarkable carved walnut Renaissance Revival Italian Curule chair, carved with Dragons & Knights, circa 1880. The chair having a very finely carved top crest with a pair of winged dragons with their claws resting on a shield draped with a carved chain with a dragons tooth, the dragons flank a knight's helmet, to each side are 'grotesques' carved as the head of monks. The back having an upholstered head rest with stylized acanthus leaf
