Oenothera riparia Colleton Ardisia smaller teethOenothera riparia is a little known Southeastern US native, found growing in freshwater swamps from Virginia south to South Carolina. In the garden, it thrives in regular to moist garden soils, where it forms a 3' tall x 3' wide deciduous clump, adorned in June July with sparse, small yellow flowers. Oenothera riparia is host to an array of native butterflies, moths, and bees. Our offering is cutting grown from a specimen from Colleton County, SC.
