In 2004, when Chez Panisse founder Alice Waters read William Rubels The Magic of Fire: Hearth Cooking, she commissioned blacksmith Angelo Garro to make a spoon for cooking an egg in coals. The iconic spoon quickly became one of the items most identified with Alices kitchen and cuisine. This version is modeled after that
