The Lotus Cortina first appeared in 1963, and was the fruit of a collaboration between Ford (UK) and Lotus Cars. A stiffened two door Cortina body was fitted with a Lotus 1558cc, twin cam engine providing 105bhp and capable of reaching a top speed of 108mph. Wide road wheels and tyres provided plenty of grip, and the car featured white paintwork with a distinctive green flash.
