As one would expect the big-bodied flavors possess plenty of size
all wrapped in an acceptably lingering finish
floral and pungently spicy nose features notes of plum and dark berry fruit scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice
Torbreck, The Gask Vintage:2008 given how impressive so manyThe Gask is a relatively new wine made since 2005 from 100% Shiraz sourced from a single vineyard in the Eden Valley planted in 1960. The 2008 The Gask gives a very deep garnet purple color and intense warm berry, kirsch, creme de cassis and wilted roses aromas plus a whiff of prunes. Very full bodied with plenty of ripe, rich fruit it has a nice backbone of crisp acid and medium level fine grained tannins supporting it through the long finish.
