Description
Bitter cherries
The 2001 Barolo Sarmassa (magnum) flows onto the palate with crushed rose petals
The refined and impressively precise medium-bodied flavors possess striking punch and authority before culminating in a long and impeccably well-balanced finish
The old vines are very much apparent as this velvety yet very serious effort displays excellent power and like many of these Gevrey grands crus
Michel & Stephane Ogier, Cote Rotie other_regions Bitter cherries98. 5% Syrah, 1. 5% Viognier, co fermented. Aged for 20 months in 55% new oak. Theres a slightly oxidative note to the fruit here. Attractive minty aromatic quality. Thick, fibrous mouthfeel. Not sure I would age this for a very long time. (RH)
