Earthy Presumed Mid Century Japanese Signed Studio Pottery Vase miniature Whatever the caseI want to describe this Japanese vessel as Brutalist, but certainly much of its inspiration comes from traditional Japanese pottery, including its beautiful jar form. (And I think it could be situated in the tradition of Shigaraki ware rugged, functional stoneware that originated in a valley to the southeast of Kyoto some 1,000 years ago.) Earthly, elegant, super satisfying. 4 1 2" t x 4 3 4" in diameter. Excellent vintage condition. Signed (incised)
