Description
and a hint of chocolate in the background
the 1999 has moved on from its primary stage
black berry and violet nuances along with plenty of earth influence where the supporting wood character is more discreet
Tasting Viña El Pisón 1998 twenty years on is a firm reminder that far too many wines are drunk too young
Launay Horiot, Pommard Perrieres other_regions_italy and a hint of chocolate(from a 2. 2 ha holding that was originally planted in 1906). A deft application of wood frames ripe aromas of plum, violet and soft earth wisps. There is fine volume and intensity to the nicely detailed middle weight flavors that conclude in a persistent, balanced and only mildly rustic finale. This is a very good Pommard villages and worth checking out. Plus this wine always ages well and the 2019 version should be no exception.
