Description
She moved to New York in 1942 and became well known as a sculptor creating works in clay
Great on the table or desk (I think perhaps a useful stress reliever or thinking device)
great for all sorts of displays--and who can ever have too many magnifiers laying around
but at some point not very long ago a board was nailed to the back with a hanging loop-I would guess replacing an old back that had split fairly badly
Wonderful Make Do Wooden Post Doll with Wrapped Fabric lenticular glasses She moved to New YorkThis wonderful thing! Its body is an old turned wooden post of some sort, into which eyes were scraped, punctuated with pencil at their centers and a little nose and mouth below, making it look rather like a cat. Around the dowel two different layers of cotton cloth were wrapped around and around, with two slits cut in the heavier cloth through which the hand sewn calico arms were pulled out. Those arms look to have received a few mends near the ends
