There's some wear to the yellow plastic cord (mostly a little darkening at spots where it crosses the wicker) but it still looks bright
and a little rusting visible on the backside
special feeling object that reminds me at least of the beauty of analog problem solving
Some losses to the wool pages and a bit of bead loss here and there
Samuel Wood Gaylor Signed Watercolor Nude, c 1920s vintage 1970s earrings There's some wear to theOne of two watercolor sketches by American artist Samuel Wood Gaylor (1883 1957) today, found at Brimfield this summer; the dealer I bought them from had purchased a body of work by Gaylor and his wife Adelaide Lawson from a one time neighbor of the couple on Long Island. Rendered on very thin paper, clearly Gaylor was pleased with it, signing it at lower right, and it appears to have been taped up at some point, perhaps in his studio. Showing losses
