It is a rare occasion that I buy an old can

which I'd guess dates to the mid 19th century or so

as pictured in detailed photos

Ochre and Shiny Black Glazed Studio Pottery Cup/Bowl/Small Planter sea creature I am sure she hadI'd love to have a whole set of these, but just found this one, which could be used as a cup, or a small bowl (for rice, say, or ice cream!), or as a succulent planter. I just find it a pretty perfectly wabi sabi thing, with the great funnel shaped form glazed a great ochre mustard with shiny black over top, over which the ochre has dripped on one side. 3 1 8" t x 4 9 16" across at lip.
