Portrait of James Bateman (1811-1897) Size:M: 75 x 50cm c1835: showing premises of JFull length studio portrait of James Bateman posed leaning against a pillar with a painted landscape backdrop behind. The sitter is turned slightly to the right as viewed. Bateman wears a dark coat over a white waistcoat and light trousers. He holds a top hat and gloves in his right and left hands respectively. Printed below the image: 'MAULL & Co. LONDON'. The reverse is variously inscribed and printed: 'MAULL & Co. Photographers, 55 GRACECHURCH
