Front cover is long gone and the book is plenty worn and aged (making it feel all the more like the last copy in the world)

Strayed Heifer Reward Note, York, Maine, 1868 portrait watercolor --on the face of thisThis one gave me pure joy to find earlier this week in southern Maine, a stone's throw from York, where it originated. The perfect, says it all title "Strayed" and then this great description of the ears of the strayed heifer in question, and "suitable reward" offered to whoever might help determine its whereabouts. I do hope Albert Young and his prized young red and white heifer were reunited and spent many more years together. 7 3 4 x 4 7 8 and in
