Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 2008 reminds me somewhat of the grace of the exceptional 1995
(from Les Gamaires)
The rich and nicely voluminous middle weight flavors exude a bracing minerality on the refined
As the description suggests this is much less rustic than usual though not as fine as most of the following 1ers
Jacques Prieur, Clos Vougeot other_regions Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 2008(from a 1. 19 ha parcel of vines at the bottom of the slope; 35% whole clusters). This too is exceptionally ripe with jammy black pinot fruit and warm earth scents that are trimmed in a hint of prune. There is better verve to the large scaled flavors that are not quite as dense as those of the Bressandes but do offer good power on the very firm finish that is again shaped by relatively grippy and inelegant tannins.
