'Ateles paniscus' [Spider monkey] Iris Roberts A faithful reproduction of theZoological study of a spider monkey of the genus Ateles. The red faced spider monkey is now described as Atales paniscus although the subject of this illustration, described within the text as a young female, is of indeterminate type.
