They were long ago folded in just the right way so lie completely flat

with what appear to be pearls and jewels integrated throughout

and I love the plane's placement toward the top of the board with lots of air around it

I found it at a terrific estate sale in Concord

Watercolor of Presumed French Dominican Monk pale blue glazed They were long ago foldedWhether this monk achieved sainthood I am not entirely sure, but I believe his dress and hair style identify him as of the Dominican order, and I believe most likely French. I'm a sucker for a holy painting, and think this small one is pretty exquisite a fine fellow to add to the alter or wall of portraits. 5 5 16 x 2 15 16. Excellent antique condition. 19th c, watercolor on wove, with what looks like a small watermark when held to light.
