I don't know much about this huge decorative stoneware plate

I find the interplay between the solid matte black and the translucent blue

but these would also just be great displayed among other little carvings or curiosities

What I really love about it is the way the triangular motif plays out across the top and sides

Certainly they bear a very strong resemblance to the animals of Swiss toy designer and maker Antonio Vitali (who also designed many toys produced by Creative Playthings), and there is a Made in Switzerland sticker on the underside. At any rate, I think they make a pretty great modernist pair to sit on a shelf somewhere and also indestructible
