His legs swing all the way front to back but his arms are static

Sweet Pair of Doggy Bookends plate with whales with what appear to beI just like the dog faces carved into these wooden bookends, which I think someone took great pains to try to get right, though both are slightly off center and the lines seem a bit more wavering than confident. Also, the dog on one of them, at right in first photo, looks a bit crosseyed and so all the more empathetic. 4 3 4 x 4 t x 3 d (3 4 thick) each. Good condition, varnished.
