Palate is vibrant berries on a leather structure. 100% Syrah, 11 months French Oak. "Ex Umbris" was introduced as a one time bottling in 2002 after a wild fire struck the vineyards' surrounding hillsides. The residual ash and smoke resonated in the Syrah grapes, creating a memorable wine. Due to demand, they continue to make this wine (minus the smoke and ash!) from
