I fell in love immediately with the illustrations on these old Villeroy & Boch enamelware dishes--and then realized they portray three characters from the famous French Guignol puppet theatre
and I love the pointy detail on the end of the handle

Based in Beverly, MA, Goldstrom has been creating small scale ceramic sculpture and tiles in a similar manner for many decades (unbeknownst to me until now), which he describes as "typically playful, sometimes whimsical, sometimes dark."
