Constructed of silvered war alloy (non magnetic); the obverse depicting a leftward facing bust of Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse depicting a Merit Cross, circumscribed FIDELITER ET CONSTANTER (Latin Faithfully and Consistently); on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 34. 52 mm in diameter; weighing 18. 4 grams; in overall very fine condition.
