An early example of this order and of high quality, the sash badge of the order in toned silver gilt, consisting of a 10 pointed star with white enamel bordering, with undulating rays between each arms, the obverse medallion features a right facing portrait of Bernard OHiggins, surrounded by a ring inscribed BERNARD OHIGGINS CHILE, the reverse is plain, measures 45. 29 mm (w) x 51. 04 mm
