It was re-designated the 20th "Halton" Battalion of Rifles on January 12

the obverse bearing a multi-coloured machine-embroidered shield overlaid by a bow and arrow

and experience dictated the evolution of the weapon as traced here for today's historians and collectors

Instituted April 28th 1922. (1934 1935 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse overlaid by a central black enameled DRK style German national eagle, in turn bearing a DRK insignia, the 12 oclock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to the shortened modern ribbon, unmarked, measuring 40. 1 mm
