Portugal, Republic. A Naval Medal of Vasco da Gama with rosette, cased. Auction Bastille Day Commemorative Merchants Token(Medalha Naval Vasco da Gama). Instituted 11th of June 1969. Compass design, obverse and reverse centre show cross surrounded by ring in green enamel and the inscription, Medalha Naval Vasco da Gama. Silk ribbon divided into seven bands in blue, red, black, and green, good condition, slightly chipped on obverse white enamel. Footnote: This medal is awarded to nationals and foreigners for meritorious acts and services provided at sea.
