Silver laurel wreath wrapped around a golden medallion topped by a silver gilt imperial eagle, obverse center medallion bearing the left profile of Emperor Napoleon III, surrounded by a blue enameled ring with the inscription LOUIS NAPOLEON, reverse center medallion bearing the inscription VALEUR ET DISCIPLINE, on original ribbon, evidence of gilt wear, measures 22. 8 mm (w) x 39. 6 mm (h), marked with boars head on the edge of the
