Urnes Style Brooch gems the Tree of Life andThis openwork brooch depicts an Urnes style animal, possibly a horse or dragon with snakes entwined around its body and limbs. It is based on a find from Trollashogur, Iceland. The style of the design dates the original to the 11th Century, towards the end of the viking age. The brooch weighs 16g and measures 35mm wide, 38mm long (1. 38 x 1. 5)
