Germany, Wehrmacht. A Black Grade Wound Badge, First Pattern Republic of 28th August 1948(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz 1. Modell). Constructed of blackened brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath with scalloped edges, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38. 75 mm (w) x 44. 04 mm (h), weighing 12. 9 grams,
