A rare and very well preserved Saxon Model 1887 Pickelhaube (spiked helmet) for Enlisted ranks, constructed of a boiled and blackened leather shell. The crown is topped by a gilded brass disc, fixed in place with four domed rivets, which accommodates a non removable spike of identical construction. A gilded brass spine extends from the back of the disc and reaches the edge of a
