Instituted in 1938. 1937 1942 Issue (1940 Production). Three piece construction, bronze gilt arms with enamelled insignia on a silvered bronze base, unmarked, 60. 35 mm x 60. 52 mm, vertical pinback, intact enamels, contact marks on the reverse, extremely fine. Footnote: Footnote: The War Cross was instituted on January 26, 1937 and amended in 1942. It was a direct descendant of the Military Order of Mary Christine (Mara Cristina)
