Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate covered with a field grey paper backer and field grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 00 mm (w) x 61. 95 mm (h), with sporadic
