The manufacturer, Kissing & Mllmann, was founded in 1826 by the Iserlohn entrepreneurs Ferdinand Mllmann and Johann Hermann Kissing. Kissing & Mllmann was one of the most important commission trading houses in the province of Westphalia. The main sales areas were Italy and Spain as well as Germany and Russia. The company became known nationally from 1872 onwards
