Württemberg, Kingdom. A Merit Cross With Swords, C.1915 Auction He died on July 6(Verdienstkreuz). Instituted on 2 July 1900 and 29 January 1915 with Swords. A silver cross patte alise, with gilded bronze swords crossing through the centre, the obverse centre with the crowned cipher of King Wilhelm II of Wrttemberg, the reverse centre presents the inscription VERDIENST (MERIT), measuring 31. 68 mm (w) x 31. 48 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in very fine condition.
