He was no known grave and is remembered with honour at the Vimy Memorial

France, III Republic. A Tonkin Medal, c.1885 visually-hidden marked ALPACA SILBER along the(Republique Francaise). Instituted 6th of September 1885. Silver. Obverse shows Marianne in centre with inscription Republique Francaise, reverse lists battles from the conflict, multi striped period ribbon, near mint condition. Footnote: The Tonkin Medal was awarded to all the French soldiers and sailors who had taken part in the battles of the Tonkin and the Sino French War between 1883 and 1885.
