Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger (Heer) respectively. It is topped by the date "1940," the inscription "NARVIK," and a German national eagle perched atop a wreathed swastika.
