Austria, Empire. A Gold Bravery Medal, Second Award, C.1916 Archive mounted to an eight-pointed star(Goldene Tapferkeitsmedaille, mit einer Spange). Type IV Issued 1914 1916. A round gilt bronze medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing bust of Kaiser Franz Joseph, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit (German For Bravery), within a laurel wreath, marked bronze on edge, on a loop for suspension from a period ribbon with a single clasp; measuring 40. 26 mm in diameter; in overall near very fine condition.
