Constructed of polished bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised rightward facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central raised inscription of DEM VERDIENSTE (TO
