Instituted 9 June 1857 28 May 1857 by Prince Friedrich Gnther of Rudolstadt and Prince Gnther Friedrich Carl II of Sondershausen. (1857 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from medalbar, the obverse bearing a raised Schwarzburg lion, circumscribed by an inscription of FR TREUE UND VERDIENST (FOR LOYALTY AND SERVICE) with oak leaf branches, the reverse bearing a raised monogram of Prince Friedrich
