Late 19th century, I believe, it features a carved wooden handle, notched below the lip on each side and then woven into the basket as it tapers down the sides. This basket is pretty sturdy and could still be put to use gathering this or that, though I'd probably be inclined just to display it somewhere to be admired. I purchased it at
