Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a detailed map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, pinned with all four reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a dark grey wool liner and intact paper stock backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 52 mm (w) x 61. 47 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
